Man Made Barbel Fishing Baits
Man made barbel baits are those which do not occur naturally in nature. They include household and supermarket items as well as baits developed especially for barbel fishing. Some man made barbel baits that are most effective are luncheon meat, pellets, and bollies.
Natural Barbel Fishing Baits
Natural barbel baits are those which occur completely naturally both in and out of the water. These baits are particullary good at catching barbel as they are their natural food source! Such baits include maggots, casters, worms, and nearly any other type of insect or insect larve you can think of!
Hemp is also very effective for catching barbel, although is not used on the hook. Instead it is used either whole or crushed in groundbait, which is then thrown out to attract barbel to the area of your hook bait.
